A Message from Jessica Howard
Lake Travis ISD is at a pivotal moment. As a parent, taxpayer, and advocate for education, I believe our schools should reflect the values of our community—transparency in leadership, responsible decision-making, and a relentless focus on academic excellence.
Right now, many parents and teachers feel unheard. Spending decisions are being made without enough accountability. And too often, the focus drifts away from what truly matters—preparing our students for success.
That's why I'm running for the LTISD School Board. It's time to restore trust, demand accountability, and refocus on what's best for our kids.
My Priorities
Integrity in Leadership
- Transparency in decision-making—parents and taxpayers deserve to know how and why choices are made.
- Open communication between the school board, parents, teachers, and the community.
- Ethical governance—ensuring every decision puts students first.
Accountability in Education & Spending
- Smart, responsible spending—keeping funds focused on classrooms, not bureaucracy.
- High academic standards—ensuring our curriculum prepares students for college, careers, and life.
- Stronger oversight—making sure leadership delivers real results in student success.
Excellence in Education
- Supporting teachers—giving them the resources they need to succeed.
- Focusing on core subjects—keeping classrooms centered on reading, writing, math, and science.
- Encouraging parent involvement—because families deserve a say in their child's education.
Upholding the Law & Protecting Parental Rights
- Texas Education Code §26.001 guarantees that parents are partners in their child's education, with the right to access information and be involved in decisions.
- Laws enacted to protect children and parental rights must be upheld—our schools should always operate with transparency and in the best interests of students.
- I will work to ensure that LTISD respects and enforces these protections, giving parents a true voice in their child's education.

Strong schools are the foundation of a strong community. Our children deserve the best education possible, and it starts with leadership that listens, makes responsible decisions, and keeps the focus on academic excellence.
